The Problem
Northbeam's early prototype worked, but users found it confusing and inconsistent. Core actions, like adjusting the thermostat or checking a security camera, were buried three or four taps deep, and the visual design changed from screen to screen with no shared design language.
The Solution
Remy started by mapping the full user journey to identify the moments that mattered most, checking in on the home, responding to alerts, and adjusting settings quickly. From there, the information architecture was rebuilt around three clear tabs instead of a sprawling menu, cutting the average task time by more than half.
